This historic work was Richard Sexton’s first serious color photography project while studying at the San Francisco Art Institute in the late 1970s. Shot on Kodachrome and Ektachrome color transparency film with a Leica M4 camera in 1977 and 1978, Sexton captures one of San Francisco’s most beloved Western neighborhoods at a very unique moment in time.
