Memento: Curator Talk & Playful Interaction

Pamplemousse X Photo Saloon Present

Memento: Curator Talk & Playful Interaction

Saturday, November 21st 2-4pm

Glass Rice

808 Sutter Street,

San Francisco, CA 94109

Join us at Glass Rice to visit RECOLLECTION, a photo exhibition curated by Nora Lalle, founder of Pamplemousse Magazine. Nora will lead a walk through of the exhibition and then Cat Coppenrath of Photo Saloon will lead the group as we playfully interact with found photographs and our own personal prints to create a collective memento. This hands-on activity using vintage photos and contemporary prints gives participants the opportunity to play with storytelling and blur the lines between amateur and fine art photography, directly reflecting the theme of the exhibition.

RECOLLECTION is an exhibition inspired by found vernacular photographs and the act of collecting them. Exploring themes of memory, family, identity, and personal history, the exhibition brings together found vintage photographic materials, reimagined images from family archives, and contemporary analog photography directly inspired by vernacular source material.

This gathering centers women, nonbinary, trans, and gender expansive artists working within lens-based mediums.

Limited to 15 people, rsvp required.

Prints and materials will be provided.

Once your spot is confirmed please email 1-2 low res jpg images of your own work (analog only!) to nora@pamplemoussemagazine.com by November 13th. Print size options are 4x6 or 4x4.

Suggested donation of $20. All proceeds will go directly towards the host organizations. No one turned away for lack of funds.
